About the Recipe
There’s nothing like a ginger and turmeric shot to wake up all your senses in the morning! It has a real ‘wow’ effect. The secret ingredient here is the pinch of black pepper. It will supercharge your turmeric absorption by a whopping 2000%. That’s a double ‘wow’!
Ingredients
2 oranges
1 lemon
24g fresh ginger
24g fresh turmeric
Pinch of ground black pepper
Preparation
If you’re using a juicer
Peel and roughly segment your oranges and lemon.
Peel and chop the ginger and turmeric.
Add to your juicer and juice.
If you’re using a high-speed blender
Juice your oranges and lemon.
Peel and chop the ginger and turmeric.
Add to your blender and blitz on high for 30 seconds
Strain away the pulp over a fine mesh strainer. You could use a clean dish towel or nut milk bag too. Remember the turmeric will stain.
You’re ready to wake up your senses
Divide between two shot glasses.
Top each with a small pinch of ground black pepper.
Give it a little stir. And enjoy!
You can keep leftovers in the fridge for 24 hours.
Top tip! You can compost any leftover pulp or freeze in an ice-cube tray and add to future smoothies.
